Prior law defined adult as an individual who had attained the age of 18 and a minor as an
individual who had not attained the age of 18.
New law changes the definition of an adult to an individual who has attained the age of 25
and a minor as an individual who has not attained the age of 25.
Prior law provided for the termination of custodianship upon the minor's attainment of the
age of 18.
New law provides for the termination of custodianship upon the minor's attainment of the
age of 25.
Effective August 1, 2023.
