Provides relative to transcription fees charged by court reporters in the Thirty-Sixth Judicial District
Purpose of Bill: This bill removes the minimum and maximum fee cap restrictions for court reporter transcript fees that are
set by the judges of the 36th Judicial District. The provisions of this bill will become effective if and when the Judicial Council
provides a recommendation in its report to the Louisiana Legislature as required by R.S. 13:62.
Note: The provisions of this bill were not included in the Report of the Judicial Council to the Louisiana State Legislature
Regarding Requests for Costs and Fees dated February 28, 2023.

EXPENDITURE EXPLANATION
There is no anticipated direct material effect on governmental expenditures as a result of this measure.
According to officials with the 36th JDC, this bill brings the law in line with the current fees charged by court reporters. While
these fees were increased last year, there are no immediate changes planned that would impact governmental expenditures.
Therefore, this bill is not expected to impact governmental expenditures.
REVENUE EXPLANATION
There is no anticipated direct material effect on governmental revenues as a result of this measure.
The court reporter fees specified in this bill are paid directly to the court reporters by the parties that request and obtain
transcripts and copies.
