Amend KRS 322.040 to allow an individual to qualify for licensure as a professional engineer if he or she has graduated from a fire protection engineering technology program of four years or more accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

Summary of Amendment: House Floor Amendment 1 -- M. Koch

Summary Require a fire protection engineering technology graduate to take 45 college semester credit hours on engineering science or engineering design to attain engineer licensure; require six additional years of progressive experience in engineering or teaching; include engineering instructors who teach at designated fire protection engineering technology programs; instruct the board to promulgate administrative regulations to establish requirements for consideration of engineering topics.
