Summary of Original Version

Amend KRS 160.200 to require the offices of boards of education to have a partisan primary or partisan election; amend KRS 160.210 to require school board candidates to have emblems of political party affiliation presented on the ballot; amend various KRS sections to conform; and repeal KRS 160.250 and 160.260, relating to election of local board of education members.

Summary of Amendment: House Floor Amendment 1 -- T. Roberts

Summary Remove Sections 1 through 13 in their entirety; create a new section of KRS Chapter 118 to allow political parties to endorse candidates for nonpartisan elections, judicial elections, and ballot measures; require county clerks and the Secretary of State to display the endorsements on their websites at least 30 days before a regular election and provide each voter with the endorsement information along with his or her ballot; create a presumption that a straight-ticket vote for a political party shall include candidates and ballot measures endorsed by the party, unless the voter indicates otherwise.
