Direct the Council on Postsecondary Education to conduct a study on expanding postbaccalaureate program offerings at comprehensive universities; consult with each president of a comprehensive university to consider a regional economic development or workforce development need that may be met by a postbaccalaureate program.

Summary of Amendment: House Committee Substitute 1

Summary Retain all original provisions; require that the study include an evaluation of establishing the following postbaccalaureate programs: a veterinary medicine program at Murray State University, doctoral programs to obtain an R2 “High Research Activity” designation at Western Kentucky University, and a doctoral program for professional practice and licensure in osteopathic medicine at Eastern Kentucky University.
