This bill designates a portion of United States Highway 75 as the Brig Gen George H Wark Memorial Highway, specifically from its southern junction with United States Highway 166 in Montgomery County to the Kansas-Oklahoma border. The Secretary of Transportation is tasked with placing appropriate signage along this stretch of highway to indicate its new designation. Additionally, the bill amends K.S.A. Supp. 68-1051 to redesignate a current portion of the highway, which previously extended to the Kansas-Oklahoma border, as the Purple Heart/Combat Wounded Veterans Highway, with the new endpoint being the southern junction with United States Highway 166.
Furthermore, the bill repeals the existing section of K.S.A. 2025 Supp. 68-1051, which outlines the previous designations and routes. The Secretary of Transportation is also authorized to accept donations to assist in the placement of suitable highway signs. The act will take effect upon its publication in the statute book.
