This bill authorizes the sale of alcoholic beverages 24 hours a day, seven days a week, during the FIFA 2026 World Cup, which will take place from June 11, 2026, to July 19, 2026. It allows any entity licensed under the Kansas liquor control act, the club and drinking establishment act, or the Kansas cereal malt beverage act to sell alcoholic liquor or cereal malt beverages from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following day, notwithstanding existing laws that typically restrict these sales.

Additionally, the bill provides that county commissioners or city governing bodies can choose to opt-out of this extended sales period by passing a resolution or ordinance, in which case the standard sales hours as prescribed by existing law will apply. The provisions of this bill will expire after July 20, 2026, and it will take effect upon publication in the Kansas register.
