This bill mandates the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks to provide a discounted resident senior combination hunting and fishing license for Kansas residents aged 65 and older. The fee for this license will not exceed one-eighth of the general combination lifetime hunting and fishing license fee. Additionally, the bill amends the existing Kansas kids lifetime combination hunting and fishing license provisions by increasing the maximum age for eligibility from seven to fifteen years, reducing the maximum fee from $500 to $400, and removing the expiration date of July 1, 2032, for these licenses.
Furthermore, the bill requires the secretary of wildlife and parks to report annually to the relevant legislative committees on the number of Kansas kids lifetime combination hunting and fishing licenses issued. The existing section of K.S.A. 2025 Supp. 32-9,101 is repealed, and the new provisions will take effect upon publication in the Kansas register.
