This bill amends existing Kansas insurance law to require that all individual and group health insurance policies, medical service plans, and related contracts provide coverage for the refilling of prescription topical eye medication, effective January 1, 2026. The coverage is mandated under specific conditions: the medication must be for a chronic eye condition, the refill must be requested before the last day of the prescribed dosage period after at least 75% of the medication has been used, and the original prescription must allow for refills without exceeding the total number prescribed by the healthcare provider.

Additionally, the bill makes amendments to K.S.A. 40-2,103 and K.S.A. 40-19c09, including the deletion of certain provisions related to nonprofit medical and hospital service corporations. It repeals the existing sections of K.S.A. 40-2,103 and K.S.A. 40-19c09, ensuring that the new requirements are clearly established in the law. The act will take effect upon publication in the statute book.
