This bill authorizes the Kansas State Employees Health Care Commission to provide coverage for early egg and peanut allergen introduction dietary supplements for infants, starting with the health plan coverage year that begins on January 1, 2026. The bill defines key terms related to dietary supplements and specifies that these supplements must be prescribed by a healthcare provider to infants under one year of age.

Additionally, if the coverage is implemented, the commission is required to submit an impact report to the legislature by March 1, 2027. This report will include information on the impact of the coverage on the state health care benefits program, data on utilization and costs, and a recommendation on whether to continue the coverage. Following the report, the legislature may consider mandating this coverage in various health insurance policies effective January 1, 2028.
