The bill mandates that the Secretary of State in Kansas must enter into agreements with credit rating agencies to obtain specific information that can be used to verify the citizenship of individuals registered to vote. This information includes names, addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, dates of birth, and alien registration numbers. The Secretary of State is responsible for using this data to identify noncitizens on the voter registration rolls and must inform the appropriate county election officer to remove these individuals from the rolls.
Additionally, the bill requires that any person removed from the voter registration rolls be notified of their removal and informed that they can be reinstated by providing proof of their United States citizenship. The act will take effect upon its publication in the statute book.
