This bill amends K.S.A. 2024 Supp. 79-2989 to extend the reimbursement for printing and postage costs incurred by county clerks through calendar year 2029. The previous provision that limited this reimbursement to the years 2023 and 2024 has been deleted, allowing for continued support for these costs for an additional five years. County clerks are required to notify the secretary of revenue of their costs and provide documentation, which will then be certified and used to transfer funds from the state general fund to the taxpayer notification costs fund.

Additionally, the bill establishes the taxpayer notification costs fund, which will be administered by the secretary of revenue. Expenditures from this fund are designated specifically for covering county printing and postage costs, and all spending must comply with appropriations acts. The existing section of K.S.A. 2024 Supp. 79-2989 is repealed, and the act will take effect upon publication in the Kansas register.
