SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 471 by Senate Committee on Federal and State Affairs
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 471 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
SB 471 would prohibit any state agency, city, or county from regulating or restricting the
use or sale of motor vehicles based on the energy source used. The bill would also permit the state
agency, city, or county to establish motor vehicle purchase policies.
According to the Kansas Department of Revenue, the Kansas Association of Counties, and
the League of Kansas Municipalities, enactment of SB 471 would have no fiscal effect on the
agencies or local governments.
