SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2697 by House Committee on Water
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2697 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
HB 2697 would amend current law pertaining to groundwater management districts. The
bill would allow groundwater management district boards to provide relevant information rather
than advice on the management of drainage problems, storage, groundwater recharge, surface
water management, and all other appropriate matters of concern to the district.
The Department of Agriculture and the Kansas Water Office indicate that the enactment of
the bill would not have a fiscal effect. The Kansas Association of Counties indicates that the
enactment of the bill would not have a fiscal effect on counties.
