SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2696 by House Committee on Water
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2696 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
HB 2696 would amend current law pertaining to groundwater management districts. The
bill would allow a groundwater management district the opportunity to provide a written comment
rather than a recommendation to the Chief Engineer in the Department of Agriculture for a
proposed water conservation area and management plan.
The Department of Agriculture and the Kansas Water Office indicate that the enactment of
the bill would not have a fiscal effect.
