SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 288 by Senate Committee on Federal and State Affairs
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 288 is respectfully
submitted to your committee.
SB 288 would make drivers eligible for restricted driving privileges if their driving privileges
have been revoked solely for driving at a time when their privileges had been canceled, suspended,
or revoked for failure to comply with a traffic citation. Drivers whose privileges have been suspended
or revoked more than three times would not be eligible for restricted privileges.

The Department of Revenue indicates that enactment of SB 288 would require additional
expenditures of $500 in FY 2024 to update the Department’s applications, letters, and website. Any
fiscal effect associated with SB 288 is not reflected in The FY 2024 Governor’s Budget Report.
