SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 281 by Senate Committee on Federal and State Affairs
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 281 is respectfully
submitted to your committee.
SB 281 would require the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) to
appoint a Dementia Services Coordinator and would list the duties to be performed by the position.
On or before the first day of each regular session of the Legislature, the Coordinator would be required
to prepare and submit a report of the Coordinator’s activities to the Senate Committee on Public
Health and Welfare and the House Committee on Health and Humans Services.

KDADS indicates that SB 281 would increase agency expenditures by $167,235 from the
State General Fund for 2.00 FTE positions, which include a Dementia Services Coordinator position

The FY 2024 Governor’s Budget Report.
