SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 251 by Senate Committee on Federal and State Affairs
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 251 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
SB 251 would stipulate that when offering product samples to drinking establishments,
alcoholic beverage distributors can only offer samples of products that have not been purchased
by the establishment within the previous 12 months. The bill would also limit the size of such
samples to three liters of wine or distilled spirits or three gallons of beer or cereal malt beverages.
The Kansas Department of Revenue indicates that enactment of SB 251 would not have a
fiscal effect.
