SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 226 by Senate Committee on Education
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 226 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
SB 226 would permit educational agencies to disclose student data for research contracted
for by an educational agency.
The Kansas Board of Regents indicates the enactment of SB 226 would have no fiscal
effect on public postsecondary educational institutions. The Kansas Department of Education
indicates the enactment of SB 226 would have a negligible fiscal effect. Any fiscal effect
associated with SB 226 is not reflected in The FY 2024 Governor’s Budget Report.
