Dear Senator Baumgardner:
SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 31 by Senate Committee on Education
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 31 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
SB 31 would change the boundaries of districts for members of the Washburn University
Board of Regents. The Board would be required to create three member districts that are as equal
in population as possible as well as being compact and contiguous. Districts would also be
required to be reviewed at lease every ten years for variances in population.
The Kansas Board of Regents estimates that the enactment of SB 31 would not have a fiscal
effect.
