SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2017 by Representative Curtis
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2017 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
HB 2017 would allow local government control in certain compensation, wage and benefit
requirements for construction projects.
The League of Kansas Municipalities indicates HB 2017 would affect any city that chooses
to pay the prevailing wage. The Kansas Association of Counties indicates the bill would have no
fiscal effect on county governments with the exception of indirect costs for the increase in project
costs from higher compensation.
