1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing Surety
2 Community Ladies Center ("SCLC") for their compassionate,
3 life-affirming services to the communities of Richmond and
4 Wayne County, Indiana.
5 Whereas, Since 2020, the SCLC has served as a pregnancy
6 resource center in Richmond, Indiana;
7 Whereas, The SCLC is committed to providing dignified,
8 life-affirming services for unexpected and unplanned
9 pregnancies that prioritize the life of mothers and unborn
10 children;
11 Whereas, The SCLC makes practical pregnancy resources
12 available for families, such as pregnancy tests, physician
13 referrals, maternity and baby items, and peer-to-peer
14 counseling;
15 Whereas, The SCLC equips clients with the practical skills
16 they will need to succeed as new parents, with classes on
17 parenting, baking, financial literacy, and other basic life skills;
18 and
19 Whereas, In the past year, the SCLC has saved a number of
20 unborn children through preparing parents for the gift of a new
21 child or supporting families through adoption: Therefore,
22 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
23 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
24 concurring:

1 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
2 recognizes Surety Community Ladies Center for their services
3 to Richmond and Wayne County, Indiana.
4 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
5 to transmit copies of this Resolution to Melinda Wilson.
