A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the Silver Creek
High School boys basketball team on winning the 2021 Indiana High
School Athletic Association ("IHSAA") Class 3A championship title.

1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the
2 Silver Creek High School boys basketball team on winning the
3 2021 Indiana High School Athletic Association ("IHSAA")
4 Class 3A championship title.
5 Whereas, The Silver Creek High School boys basketball
6 team are the 2021 IHSAA Class 3A champions after
7 triumphantly defeating Leo High School;
8 Whereas, The team consists of Hayden Garten, Kyle
9 Roberts, Trey Kaufman-Renn, Cooper Murley, Nate Dallman,
10 Nolan Gilbert, Isaac Hinton, Trey Schoen, Branden Northern,
11 Zac Stricker, Kooper Jacobi, Jace Burton, Wyatt Hoffman, and
12 Dominic Decker;
13 Whereas, To earn their spot in the state championship
14 game, the Dragons defeated the Madison Cubs in the sectional
15 championship, the Connersville Spartans in the regional
16 championship, and the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles in the
17 semi-state championship;
18 Whereas, Fighting for the state title, the Silver Creek
19 Dragons faced off against the Leo Lions at Bankers Life
20 Fieldhouse in Indianapolis;
21 Whereas, With one minute left on the clock, the Silver Creek
22 Dragons' offense kept the pressure up, closing out the game
23 with a score of 50-49;
24 Whereas, Kooper Jacobi led the Dragons with 18 points

1 and 18 rebounds, Trey Kaufman-Renn contributed 13 points
2 and 10 rebounds, Isaac Hinton made 7 points and 4 rebounds,
3 Nolan Gilbert grabbed 2 rebounds, and Hayden Garten had 1
4 assist and 1 rebound;
5 Whereas, Following the game, Kooper Jacobi received the
6 Arthur L. Trester Mental Attitude Award from the members of
7 the IHSAA Executive Committee in recognition of his excellent
8 mental attitude, scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability;
9 Whereas, The Dragons, led by coach Brandon Hoffman,
10 assistant coaches Neil Coffman, Joe Campbell, Perry Hunter,
11 Mark Rieger, George Gerth, and Deantra Scott, and team
12 manager Justin Rouster, finished the season with a 25-4
13 record;
14 Whereas, The Dragons are the reigning back-to-back state
15 basketball champions, in light of the cancellation of the 2020
16 IHSAA basketball tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic
17 and the Dragons' 2019 IHSAA Class 3A championship title
18 win; and
19 Whereas, The Dragons' tenacity, skill, and drive to win
20 were key to the team's success in winning both state titles:
21 Therefore,
22 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
23 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
24 concurring:
25 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
26 congratulates the Silver Creek High School boys basketball
27 team for their second IHSAA Class 3A state championship title.
28 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
29 to transmit copies of this Resolution to each member of the
30 Silver Creek High School boys basketball team.
