1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring health care workers
2 for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
3 Whereas, There are approximately 18,000,000 health care
4 workers in the United States, and Indiana is home to roughly
5 400,000 of them;
6 Whereas, The men and women working in our health care

1 facilities are putting their lives on the line to protect their
2 fellow Americans who are suffering from COVID-19;
3 Whereas, Health care workers continue to show up and risk
4 their lives to save the lives of others;
5 Whereas, These men and women continue to go above and
6 beyond the call of duty to serve citizens in Indiana and across
7 the nation;
8 Whereas, Representative McNamara witnessed firsthand the
9 care and compassion of frontline medical staff in Michigan City
10 when her father and sister were hospitalized with COVID-19;
11 Whereas, Frontline health care workers and medical staff
12 have stepped up to give struggling patients comfort in their
13 final moments;
14 Whereas, No part of our state could successfully battle this
15 pandemic without the coordination and assistance of our health
16 care providers;
17 Whereas, Health care workers serve as key sources of
18 information to community and national leaders; and
19 Whereas, When people need help, these frontline health care
20 workers are always counted upon to assist: Therefore,
21 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
22 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
23 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
24 thanks health care workers for their efforts during the
25 C O V ID - 1 9 p a n d e m i c , r e c o g n i z i n g t h o s e a t
26 Franciscan-Michigan City for the care and compassion offered
27 to Representative McNamara's father and sister.
28 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
29 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to
30 Representative Wendy McNamara for distribution.
