Amends the State Fire Marshal Act. Provides that the Office of the State Fire Marshal shall award grants to not-for-profit fire departments exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (in addition to units of local government) for the rehabilitation or construction of fire stations.
House Floor Amendment No. 1: Adds provisions amending the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act. Provides that the Illinois Stop Payment List shall contain the names of those individuals and entities that are ineligible from receiving an award of grant funds from the State (currently, ineligible either temporarily or permanently). Amends the Governor's Office of Management and Budget Act to make conforming changes.
