Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that a group or individual policy of accident and health insurance or a managed care plan that is amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after the effective date of the amendatory Act shall provide coverage for at-home, urine-based pregnancy tests that are prescribed to the covered person, regardless of whether the tests are otherwise available over-the-counter.
House Floor Amendment No. 3: Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the bill, as amended by House Amendment No. 2, with the following changes. Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that, beginning January 1, 2025, the medical assistance program shall provide coverage for at-home, urine-based pregnancy tests that are ordered directly by a clinician or furnished through a standing order for patient use, regardless of whether the tests are otherwise available over the counter. Provides that the coverage is limited to a multipack, as defined by the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, of at-home, urine-based pregnancy tests every 30 days. Changes the effective date to January 1, 2025 (rather than January 1, 2026).
