Amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act. Provides that one representative of the Office of the State Long Term Care Ombudsman (instead of one representative of the Department on Aging) is a nonvoting member of the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Advisory Board. Adds a certified long term care ombudsman and 3 current or former residents of an assisted living establishment or shared housing establishment as voting members of the Board.
House Committee Amendment No. 2: Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act. Provides that the Director of Aging shall consult with the Director of Public Health on the appointment of one representative of the Department on Aging (rather than consulting with the Director of Public Health on the appointment of all nonvoting members). Provides that, of the 3 voting members selected by the Director of Public Health from candidates recommended by consumer organizations that engage solely in advocacy or legal representation on behalf of senior citizens, at least one member must be a resident of an assisted living or shared housing establishment.
