Creates the Increasing Representation of Women in Technology Task Force Act, and creates the Increasing Representation of Women in Technology Task Force. Includes provisions concerning Task Force membership, meetings, and duties. Provides that the State of Illinois Office of Equity shall provide administrative and other support to the Task Force. Repeals the Act on January 1, 2030. Effective immediately.
Senate Floor Amendment No. 1: Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes. Changes the Act name to the Increasing Representation of Women in Technology Working Group Act (rather than the Increasing Representation of Women in Technology Task Force Act), and makes conforming changes. Modifies the membership of the Working Group. Provides that the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board, in consultation with an Illinois public college or university, shall provide administrative and other support to the Working Group (rather than the State of Illinois Office of Equity providing administrative support and other support). Modifies the duties of the Working Group and the report requirements. Makes other changes. Effective immediately.
Senate Floor Amendment No. 2: Changes all references to the Increasing Representation of Women in Technology Working Group to the Increasing Representation of Women in Technology Task Force. Provides that the Task Force shall include one member of the Senate, appointed by the President of the Senate, one member of the Senate, appointed by the Minority Leader of the Senate, one member of the House of Representatives, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and one member of the House of Representatives, appointed by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives (rather than 2 members appointed by each of those officers).
House Floor Amendment No. 1: Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the engrossed bill with the following changes. Modifies the membership of the Task Force, including adding the Director of the Governor's Office of Management and Budget (rather than one member representing the Governor's Office of Management and Budget), the Chief Equity Officer of the Illinois Office of Equity (rather than one member from Illinois Office of Equity), the Vice Chancellor of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion of the University of Illinois Office of the Vice Chancellor of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (rather thane one member representing the University of Illinois Office of the Vice Chancellor of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion), the Executive Director of the Illinois Community College Board (rather than one member from the Illinois Community College Board), and a chairperson of the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board, or the specified officers' designees. Provides that, subject to appropriation, the Task Force shall collect data on the state of recruitment, advancement, and retention of women in technology positions. Effective January 1, 2025 (rather than immediately).
