This bill amends Chapter 18, Title 41 of the Idaho Code by adding a new section, 41-1854, which establishes provisions regarding the coverage of anticancer medications by health benefit plans. The bill defines "anticancer medication" as any drug or biologic used to combat cancer, regardless of the method of administration. Starting January 1, 2027, health benefit plans that cover FDA-approved anticancer medications must ensure that the cost-sharing for orally administered medications is equivalent to that of injected or intravenously administered medications, including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.

Additionally, the bill clarifies that health benefit plans are not prohibited from implementing formularies, requiring prior authorization, or applying other utilization controls for anticancer medications. An emergency is declared, making the act effective on July 1, 2026.
