This bill amends Section 18-3302C of the Idaho Code, which pertains to prohibited conduct regarding concealed weapons. The amendments include the insertion of a new provision that defines "courtroom portions of a courthouse" to encompass various areas such as courtrooms, judges' chambers, and jury deliberation rooms. Additionally, the bill specifies that individuals with a concealed weapon license are prohibited from carrying weapons in these defined areas, as well as in juvenile detention facilities and schools, with certain exceptions for peace officers, security personnel, and authorized individuals.
Furthermore, the bill clarifies that providing false information on a permit application for carrying a concealed weapon is also prohibited. Violations of these provisions will result in misdemeanor charges. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2027.
