This bill amends Section 19-5102 of the Idaho Code to include a representative from the Idaho Association of Counties as a member of the Peace Officer Standards and Training Council. The new language specifies that this representative can be from either the juvenile justice administrators or the adult misdemeanor probation administrators association. Additionally, the bill makes technical corrections to the existing language, including clarifying the composition of the council and the role of the chairman, who is appointed by the governor and is a voting member.

The bill also establishes that there will be advisory, nonvoting members from the executive directors of the Idaho Association of Counties and the Association of Idaho Cities. An emergency clause is included, declaring that the act will take effect on July 1, 2026.
