This bill amends Section 31-2808 of the Idaho Code, which addresses the final disposition of dead human bodies. The amendment specifies that no coroner or person acting as a coroner, who is a licensed funeral director or mortician, or associated with any establishment engaged in such services, shall perform any funeral director or mortician services or provide related materials for bodies that require investigation by law. The bill removes the term "employee" from the list of individuals who are prohibited from performing these services, while adding "or" to clarify the relationships between the parties involved.

Additionally, the bill maintains that violations of this section will result in a misdemeanor charge. It also includes an exemption for counties with only one licensed funeral establishment or those with populations under 20,000, as determined by the latest federal census. The bill declares an emergency, stating that it will take effect on July 1, 2025.
