STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS31749 / S1459
This is a fiscal year 2025 appropriation bill that funds the impact of Senate Bill 1380. This bill provides an
appropriation to the Office of Health and Human Services Ombudsman, which was created by Senate Bill 1380,
that is charged with monitoring and evaluating compliance of public agencies and private entities with public
policies of the state for children under the care of the state. Additionally, this bill reduces the appropriation to
the Department of Health and Welfare's Indirect Support Services division by the same amount.
FISCAL NOTE
This bill provides a General Fund appropriation to the Office of Health and Human Services Ombudsman in
the amount of $470,000 and limits the number of FTP to three in FY 2025. Additionally, this bill reduces the
General Fund appropriation to the Indirect Support Services division in the Department of Health and Welfare
by $470,000 and reduces the number of FTP by three. The budgetary impact of this bill is zero.
