STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS31610 / S1425
This appropriation to the State Appellate Public Defender provides enhancements to the FY 2025 maintenance
budget that includes appellate conflict costs restoration, replacement items, the additional 2% CEC, and
reappropration authority for capital and noncapital conflict representation costs.
FISCAL NOTE
This appropriation provides an additional $99,800 to the maintenance appropriation provided to the State
Appellate Public Defender found in Senate Bill 1270. Table 1 shows incremental adjustments to the budget
found in the bill, of which the ongoing increase is $99,800 and there are no onetime appropriations. Table
2 shows all the adjustments leading to the FY 2025 Total. The total budget for the State Appellate Public
Defender is $4,081,700.
