STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This legislation adds new provisions to Section 49-937, Idaho Code, on vehicle mufflers and noise prevention
which first allows a commercial vehicle to idle for the purposes of using a vehicle’s heating and air conditioning
system when a driver is resting, and second when parked for purposes of refrigerating perishable commodities,
pharmaceuticals, or both.
FISCAL NOTE
This legislation causes no additional expenditure of funds at the state or local level of government, nor does it
cause an increase or decrease in revenue for state or local government, therefore this legislation has no fiscal
impact.
