STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS31050 / H0496
Idaho law prohibits a foreign government or foreign state-controlled enterprise from purchasing, acquiring or
holding any controlling interest in agriculture land, water rights, mining claims or mineral rights in the State
of Idaho. This clarifies that forest land is included and that federally recognized Indian Tribes are not foreign
governments.
FISCAL NOTE
This legislation causes no additional expenditure of funds at the state or local level of government nor does it
cause an increase or decrease in revenue for state or local government therefore the legislation has no fiscal
impact.
