REVISED
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS30976 / H0454
This Legislation changes the current payment structure for a CTE workforce training course under the Advanced
Opportunities program, described in Idaho Code Section 33-4602(d). This change allows a student to utilize
the $1,000 scholarship for one course, or more, and strikes the portion where a student is only allowed to
spend $500 per course. The total amount allowed will remain the same at $1,000 per year. This change
simply allows students to take a CTE course from a local college when the course is not offered through
a traditional CTE program. This will give students more flexibility in spending the allocated dollars in the
Advanced Opportunities program.
FISCAL NOTE
This legislation could have an impact on the general fund depending upon the number of additional students
utilizing the Advanced Opportunities available under the law. Estimating between 50-150 additional students,
would lead to an estimate fiscal impact between $25,000 and $75,000.
