REVISED
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS30876 / SJR104
This Joint Resolution amends the Idaho Constitution to include the extraordinary sessions of the Idaho
Legislature convened upon a written request of 60% each of the House and Senate membership under the
same 20-day limit that has applied since statehood to all special sessions convened at the call of the Governor.
FISCAL NOTE
This amendment restores a constitutional limit on the length of legislative sessions convened after the regular
session adjourns. As such, it adds no additional cost, but may serve to limit legislative expenses estimated at
$21,300 per day. There is an estimated cost of $200,000 for the Idaho Secretary of State to publish the proposed
constitutional amendment and arguments as required by law.
