STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS30660 / S1188
Idaho Law restricts distribution, promotion, or dissemination of obscene materials to minors. This Bill amends
Idaho Code §§ 18-1520 and 18-1521. It will add certain organizations and establishments that the district court
has the jurisdiction with regards to distribution of such materials to minors. It also revises the provisions on the
enforcement and banning of ordinances, rules and regulations relating to sale, loan, and distribution of harmful
materials to minors.
FISCAL NOTE
The passage of this Bill could cause the expenditure of public funds because of possible legal actions required.
It is estimated to expose local government and state government to legal cost of $10,000.00 to $100,000.00, as
per annum.
