STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This legislation creates an incentive for nurses to seek employment in rural health professional shortage areas
or Idaho critical access hospitals.
FISCAL NOTE
The fiscal impact would not exceed $2,500,000 from state funds. The fiscal impact could be less because each
enrolled nurse’s debt could be less than $25,000. The fiscal impact could be less because this program sunsets
in 2029 and may not have maximum number of nurses enrolled.
