This bill establishes a new section in Iowa law that prohibits state agencies from using the term "West Bank" to refer to Judea and Samaria in any official government material, which includes guidance, rules, briefings, press releases, or publications. Additionally, it prohibits the use of state funds to create any official government material that employs this terminology.

However, the bill allows for exceptions, as the head of a state agency can waive these prohibitions if they determine that doing so is in the interest of the state. In such cases, the agency head must provide a written explanation of the waiver to the general assembly or the legislative council within thirty days of the decision, although the inclusion of this explanation does not imply agreement from the members of the general assembly regarding its content.
