However, the bill allows for the possibility of transfer if the receiving district approves the request, even if the pupil is still in one of those situations.

Additionally, the bill removes the existing provision that exempts certain children from open enrollment application deadlines when their parents intend to enroll them in a public school for full-time online instruction. This change means that all open enrollment applications will now be subject to the same deadlines. The bill applies to all open enrollment applications and notifications submitted after its effective date, ensuring that the new rules are implemented moving forward.
