This bill amends Section 481A.54 of the Iowa Code to prohibit individuals from shooting any rifle, shotgun with a slug load, pistol, or revolver from any road, as defined in section 306.3, subsection 8. The definition of a road includes the entire width between property lines on private property or the designated width on public property, provided that any part of such a way is open to public use for vehicular traffic. The legislation specifically exempts peace officers and military personnel when performing their official duties.

Violators of this new provision will face a scheduled fine of $30 for unlawfully shooting from a road. This amendment aims to enhance public safety by restricting firearm use in areas where it could pose a risk to the public.
