This bill amends Section 298.4 of the Iowa Code to authorize school districts to utilize revenues from the district management levy for targeted staff retention incentives. A new paragraph is added to specify that these incentives can include retention bonuses or other financial rewards for employees in critical positions, those with high-need endorsements in areas such as special education, mathematics, science, and career and technical education, as well as classified employees in essential operational roles.

The bill is set to take effect for school budget years beginning on or after July 1, 2026. This change aims to enhance staff retention in critical educational roles, thereby improving the overall quality of education within the state.
