This bill mandates that the state commissioner of elections in Iowa create and maintain a record of all voters who participated in an election, using information from the statewide voter registration database. This record must be organized by county and completed within sixty days following the conclusion of each election. The records are to be preserved for a period of eight years.
Additionally, the bill stipulates that these records must be made available in an electronic format at no cost to those who request them. However, if the record is too large to be transmitted electronically, the requester is responsible for providing a device to store the information.
