This bill amends the current law regarding fees for lifetime fur harvester licenses in Iowa. It establishes a fixed fee of five dollars, plus any applicable processing fees, for residents who are veterans of the armed forces and were disabled during their service. The previous method of setting the fee through rules adopted by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has been removed. The DNR is also tasked with preparing an application for eligible veterans seeking this license and will receive assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs in verifying applicants' statuses.

Additionally, the bill mandates that the DNR issue refunds to Iowa residents who previously paid more than seven dollars for a lifetime fur harvester license. The refund will cover the amount paid in excess of seven dollars. This legislation is deemed of immediate importance and will take effect upon enactment.
