House Resolution No. recognizes and congratulates the Kirkwood Community College women's basketball team for their exceptional performance during the 2025 basketball season. The team entered the NJCAA Division II national tournament as the number one seed and maintained that ranking throughout the season. They achieved their fifth consecutive Region 11 tournament title, regular season championship, and district title, while also setting a record with a 54-game win streak over two seasons and a 74-game home winning streak. After winning the national championship in 2024, they finished the 2025 season with an impressive 33-2 record, securing a fourth-place finish.
The resolution highlights the individual achievements of sophomore Jenna Twedt, who was named to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament All-Tournament Team for the second consecutive year, and acknowledges head coach Kim Muhl's remarkable 35-season tenure, during which he has become the all-time leader in career victories among NJCAA women's basketball coaches. The House of Representatives expresses its pride in the team's accomplishments and directs the Chief Clerk to transmit a copy of the resolution to Coach Muhl and Kirkwood Community College President Kristie Fisher.
