The bill establishes a new section in Iowa law regarding deer hunting licenses specifically for disabled veterans. It allows resident disabled veterans to obtain one any sex deer hunting license for use during any established firearm deer hunting season, provided they complete a form verifying their residency and disability status. Additionally, this license can be obtained alongside any other deer hunting licenses for which the individual is eligible. The definition of a disabled veteran is clarified to include those who have served in the armed forces on federal active duty and were disabled during their service, as verified by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Furthermore, the bill amends existing provisions related to nonresident wild turkey hunting licenses. It increases the number of nonresident wild turkey hunting licenses available from seventy-five to one hundred twenty-five and adjusts the allocation of these licenses. Specifically, it changes the allocation of licenses from twenty-five to seventy-five for certain nonresidents who are disabled veterans or currently serving in the armed forces, allowing them to participate in hunts organized for disabled individuals. These changes aim to enhance hunting opportunities for disabled veterans and ensure their inclusion in outdoor activities.
