This bill amends the smokefree air Act by eliminating the exemption that previously allowed smoking on gaming floors within licensed gambling establishments, such as casinos, excursion gambling boats, and racetracks. Specifically, it removes subsection 10 from Section 142D.4 of the Code 2025, which previously permitted smoking in these areas.

As a result of this change, all premises licensed under Code chapter 99F will now be fully subject to the smoking prohibitions outlined in the smokefree air Act. This legislative action aims to enhance public health by ensuring that individuals in these gaming environments are protected from secondhand smoke exposure.
