This bill amends existing laws to allow native distilleries without a class C retail alcohol license to offer supervised distilling classes to individuals aged 21 and over. Participants in these classes are permitted to manufacture up to 750 milliliters of alcoholic liquor, with a total annual production cap of 300 gallons for all participants combined. The bill also stipulates that no alcoholic beverages, including those produced during the class, may be consumed on the premises, except for tastings of native distilled spirits as permitted under existing regulations.

Additionally, the bill requires that the native distillery remit 50 percent of the wholesale price for the alcoholic liquor produced in the class to the department of revenue. The director is granted the authority to adopt rules to ensure operational, product, and public safety in these distilling classes. The new provisions aim to promote education and responsible practices in the distilling industry while maintaining regulatory oversight.
